The other day I received the following email from a friend:
The houses on my level share a giant lawn, and in part of it, there is a patch of forest-y stuff with some trees and brush. One of the other homeowners decided to put a birdhouse at the edge of this patch. Birds are messy eaters so birdseed spills on the ground. That in turn attracts a lot of chipmunks who eat the seed. And all the chipmunks brought the fox, who now lives there and has his fill of chipmunks (that’s what you see in the fox’s mouth lol)
I sent some pix to the managing agent informing him that they were just for enjoyment, we have no problem with seeing the fox and don’t want to see him harmed or removed based on my sending pix. He responded that he was glad because the fox is keeping the chipmunk population down and they are pests when they manage to get into houses (which apparently happens often, alttho not in our house thank goodness).
I instantly thought about how perfectly God works everything together for the good. Some people may think I’m too deep but I cannot help but to see God in everything. We are His creation and His desire is that we don’t miss out on everything perfect and good that He has for us.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
The birds brought the chipmunks ( pest) and the foxes ate the chipmunks (* cue circle of life) . Here’s my favorite part of the email: I sent some pix to the managing agent informing him that they were just for enjoyment, we have no problem with seeing the fox and don’t want to see him harmed or removed based on my sending pix. “He responded that he was glad because the fox is keeping the chipmunk population down and they are pests when they manage to get into houses “. This is a clear illustration of what happens when you LET GO and LET GOD have His way. God has a perfect will for you and in His will there is a divine order. This means, stay encouraged, things don’t often happen in our timing but rather in God’s.
I began to understand this after changing careers. I became super dependent on God because I didn’t know ANYTHING about my new career in the fashion industry and He had called me to it. I had a few people push me along the way but my ultimate source was God. I had become so dependent on His for guidance on all of my next steps. What did this look like? Me screaming and crying: “God, what’s going on with my life”, “Why did you bring me this far to leave me here alone”, and “Why did all of these doors have to close in my face”. In my frustration and confusion, God began to speak to me. He began to show me that everything I desired was wrapped up in my relationship with Him AND if I were obedient to His leading (guidance), I would have great and Godly success. I’m living in His promises.
Let me let you in on a secret: everything comes full circle and everything works together for your good.
There have been times that I thought what I knew what was best for me when I realized; it’s just better to let God do it.
Repeat after me:
God has a plan for my life. I have not been overlooked or cast out! God is concerned about every aspect of me and will work things out for my good. I am blessed by the King.
