How to Make 2018 A Success

You clicked on this blog post because you want this year to be better than last year. You want to achieve more things this year than you did last year. Maybe you want to move forward on an idea. Maybe you want more doors of opportunity to be opened for you! Whatever it is that you desire, you will need this one thing: A RENEWED MIND.

All over social media, I’ve seen people say they were going to cut people off for the new year. My question is: if you cut people off but you are still the same person, what change are you really making in your life? You know we attract people based on where we are right? Your mindset, your outlook and your beliefs attract people with similar mindsets, outlooks and beliefs.

Let me set the record straight; when I talk about success I am not talking about obtaining materialistic things but rather obtaining Godly success. I am talking about gaining resources so that you may not only help yourself but also be in a position to help others. God is not giving you things (resources and finances) for you to hoard up, He is giving them to you so that you can be a blessing to others.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. – Matthew 6:19.

Let’s briefly look at the people of Israel in The Bible. God promised that He would lead them out of slavery, which He did, into the Promised Land. Between Egypt (slavery) and the Promised Land (let’s say success), they wandered in the wilderness. Do you know what kept them in the wilderness for 40 years? Their mindset! They were so used to being enslaved that when God released them, they couldn’t shake their oppressed mindset. Every day they would argue with Moses, who God commissioned to lead them to the Promised Land (poor man),  about how much they wished they could go back to where they were comfortable (slavery). They had a slavery mindset which they could not nor were they willing to shake. Many died in the wilderness because they were not 1) willing to trust God and 2) willing to shake their oppressive mindset.

If you want this year to be better than last year, you have to bury those thoughts of yourself that keep you bound! No more thinking you are less than. No more thinking you have to sacrifice your morals to obtain things. No more thinking that man holds power over you. No more fear. No more doubt. No more speaking death over yourself. No more allowing others to kill your vision. No more connecting to people that you know will hinder you. Let’s leave this right here and right now! I too want this year to be a successful year! I too want God to be glorified in my life. I want people to see me and see God’s favor and hand over my life. This year will be the same if you take the same mindset into this year. Let this be a signal to you that you need to change your mindset.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is so true!!!! Many don’t even consider the role that the children of Egypt played in their own hinderance. Had they listened to Moss they would have made it there a lot faster. Also, another part is that once your in that place like Mose don’t let people get you so frustrated that you disobey God. Mose should have spoke things into existence instead hitting the rock. Just because God does it one way the first time doesn’t mean he will do it the same way the next. Thank you Sade for this post. #focused #mymindischanged.

YES!!!! We are so much like the children of Israel – impatience, doubtful, comfortable, fearful, selfish the list goes on. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I rather do it God’s way and get where I am going than to be held up because of ME. I pray that in 2018 God will nurture the spirit of obedience in you! I pray that nothing will hinder you from doing God’s will! I pray that doors of opportunity will open for you. May you be wise in your decisions and discerning.
